FOOD AND ALLERGY TESTING - Ann Richards & Deborah Hamilton

The test is carried out using a MORA device, a system developed during the 1970's.

The procedure for testing is quite straightforward.  The client holds a small brass rod in one hand, a probe is then applied to an acupressure point around the nail bed of a finger on the other hand.

Readings are then noted by the therapist and from these readings it can be ascertained which foods, or other allergens are causing sensitivities.

Testing takes approximately one hour.  In that time the client will be tested with over 100 foods, airborne allergens and food additives.

There are many symptoms which could make one suspect that food sensitivities could be a problem.  These include tiredness, headaches, bloating and other intestinal problems, skin rashes and stress.

Commonly Asked Questions

Food intolerance or allergy?
Most people have food intolerances and not an allergy.  An intolerance is not life threatening.  However, a classic allergic reaction is usually severe and happens immediately the food is eaten.  For example, swollen lips and tongue, convulsions, shock etc.

Is it possible to crave food you are intolerant to?
Yes.  Our bodies will often adapt to the intolerance, even craving that particular food and still react to it.  These reactions can occur in a seemingly unconnected location ( maybe the skin).

Must I give up the foods I'm intolerant to indefinitely?
No.  Intolerances often disappear after avoidance of the food substances for a month, although it can take up to six months.
